At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Ambassador Aleksandar Bogdanić paid his first official visit to this country from February 22 to March 1, 2025. On February 25, 2025, Ambassador Bogdanić also presented his letters of credence to the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

During the visit, Ambassador Bogdanić held a series of meetings with the representatives of Cuban economic, cultural and academic organizations and institutions, and with high-ranking officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment, as well as a with a representative of the Cuban parliament, the Rector of the University of Havana and the Director of the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana.

These meetings discussed the cooperation achieved so far between the two countries in different areas, as well as the improvement of future cooperation and the signing of a memorandum of understanding in the fields of foreign trade, economic relations and investments, as a legal framework for further cooperation. Cuba can offer Bosnia and Herzegovina products and services in the fields of health and tourism, as well as some specific agricultural and industrial Cuban products, while Bosnia and Herzegovina can offer Cuba products in the fields of lumber industry, furniture industry, construction and metallurgy.

In talks with the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, dr. Reynaldo Velazquez, as well as with Dr. Miriam Nicado, the Rector of the University of Havana, the cooperation achieved was welcomed as well as the signing of cooperation agreements with the universities from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and future directions in the development of academic and scientific-research cooperation were discussed.
